Warrington Junior Football League
Hi and welcome to the club Academy (Under 6s) page.
If you are looking here, then we're guessing you have a child under 6 and interested in playing football. The first step to playing football is LEARNING HOW TO PLAY.
This team do not play matches, they just train and have fun.
Our focus is on learning the basic skills needed to progress and be able to play the game in the way it was intended - on the floor.
The sessions practice life skills like listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork. A typical session places as much emphasis on simple learning concepts like numbers as it does on a players basic balance, agility and co-ordination. They include fun games that contain specific actions and movements to help our players gain body control. All players will learn how to strike stationary and moving footballs during play and everyone gets to experience those unforgettable goal scoring moments. A key outcome of our sessions is to provide a fun, safe and positive environment that encourages each child to start active, independent interaction with their team. Practice drills are designed to give player’s lots of turns and touches of the ball in order to encourage greater individual skill development within a structured team environment. All players get to participate in a small sided football game at the end of every session.
We ask for a small weekly amount for each child which cover the costs of the sessions, equipment and facility hire. If you are interested in bringing your son/daughter down to the club then ring our experienced coach (details above). We would be happy to offer some free taster sessions before making any decision.
